Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Setup and operation of CNC Optical machines under the supervision of experience technicians
- Follow detailed instructions to produce precision optical components
- Conducting optical metrology equipment to include Zygo Interferometer, Luphos, Talysurf, and other measuring devices
- Measuring radii, irregularities, diameters, thicknesses, sag, bevel, surface roughness, surface quality
- Follow standard operating procedures for optical components
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings and specifications
- Accurately document production processes and results

- Strong mechanical aptitude, and basic understanding of machining principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies
- Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical or vocational training is a plus
- 1-3 years of hands-on precision machining or optical component production is a plus
- Knowledge of metrology and inspection tools is a plus
- Working knowledge of MIL Specs, and MIL Standards is a plus
